How do we understand sustainability?

In article--"Our Common Future", released by the World Commission on Environment and Development (WCED), sustainability is defined as "development that meets the needs of the current generation without compromising the benifits of Future generations to meet their own needs".

Former Chinese President Jiang Zemin once said, "The so-called sustainability means that we should consider both the needs of current development and the needs of future development, and should not meet the interests of the present generation at the expense of the interests of future generations."

The SUSTAINABLE Development Goals, broken down by the United Nations into 17 categories, are a blueprint for a better, healthier world by 2030.
