Due to using vegetabel origin raw material as plasticizer, ECA reaches a new level of biobased. It has more benifits in many of aspects.

As a human contacting material, which property are you caring about firstly?  Absolutely safty. 

We start our safty journey from the building blocks of ECA.

One of the starting material is cellulose acetate, We can find answer from FDA 21 CFR PART11:

"The use of  cellulose acetate in paper and paperboard product is generally recongnise as safe(GRAS) as in part 182.90. Cellulose acetate may also be used as component of coating in part 175.300. "

Another important starting material is plasticizer. People is anxious when knowing there is platicizer. However, plasticizer is a definition of substance which makes other material plasticity. Sometimes, we can even say: water is plasticizer. So for ECA, we use vegitable origin substance as platicizer, which is even recongnized as foodsafe material. We can find our all components of ECA in both 21CFR and (PIM) EU 10/2011. 

Comply with the most strict standard

ECA has passed several standards all over the word, such as REACH SVHC, CP65, RoHS2.0. Further more, as a human contacting material, we select some important standards which have been applied in many industry, such as holagens, PAHs. Of course, the first important lable of ECA is phthalates free. As we use independent production line, ECA has passed 43P test.

Sustainable for future

Inspired by the miracle of nature

Together with the vegetable origin of the plasticizer, ECA is much more closed to nature. As a natural product, customers are often confused by the marketing, such as bioplastic, bioacetate, biobased, biodegradability, compostable, recycle, circular, etc. So, which one shall be important for the nature, the planet? Pacetati is inspire by the miracle of nature. Our way solgan is "let nature back to nature". There are 2 key factors:

  1. Sourcing from nature but not destroying nature
  2. Backing to nature but not harming to nature

Sourcing from certified forest

To protect the population of a vital resource like trees, much of the wood pulp used for the production of cellulose acetate is obtained under third-party forest certification standards, such as Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes(PEFC) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

A higher biobased content

Biobased means the natural of material. Higher biobased content means higher ratio of natural origin.The quantity of the product deriving from renewable sources is expressed in percentage value and gives the indication of how much part derives from renewable sources and how much from fossil sources.

According to ASTM D6866, ECA has a biobased content up to 70%, which is double times compared to traditional GCA(35%).

Biodegradable—Back to nature

According to ISO, the term biodegradable is used to define any material that can be broken down by the enzymatic activity of microorganisms, sunlight and other environmental physical agents, into simple chemical compounds such as water, carbon dioxide and methane. Biodegradation is influenced by the chemical nature of the material to be biodegraded. In order to define a plastic material as biodegradable, the degree of biodegradation must reach 90% in an incubation time of no more than 6 months.

According to GB/T 19277.1-2011(similar method with ISO 14855-2), The relative degree of biodegradation of ECA is up to 97.8% after 180 days of incubation and is therefore biodegradable.

Superior on properties

Sustainability without compromising property

Customers need a more sustainable material, however without compromising the properties. We took machanical properties, heat properties, and weathering properties into consideration at the bigginning of our research. It is proved to be a perfect substitution for GCA compound.

Drop-in solutions

We know that cellulose acetate has more than 1o0 years of user acceptance. In glasses frame industry, it has more than 70years of history. Users have a very rich experience on processing the traditional acetate compound(GCA). You absolutely don't want to make any changes or modifcations. ECA, as a new material, has been taking into consideration at the starting of the reasearch.

We took processing temperature, secondary fabracation, and even storage into consideration. ECA can be perfectly applied to exsiting machine, including extrusion, injection and dry block. Customers replace conventional resion with no investment in new machinery.

 

The worker maybe make wrong use of ECA as it has almost the same appearance with GCA. Don't worry. ECA can be blended with GCA at any ratio. Further more, the ECA sheet can be welded together with GCA sheet.
